Warm White China Cabinet - SOLD

This is one of those fixer upper MUST HAVE PAINT kind of pieces. It really looked dated and ugly when we received this piece. I wondered if we could really make it look good and if someone would actually want it.... I'll let you decide for yourself but we're pretty thrilled with it!

Black Pedestal Table with Stained Top - SOLD

This table is a real beauty. Its gone through a couple of transformations and we're FINALLY ecstatic with the result. Painted with a durable black latex for the base and skirt and then the top has been stained with dark walnut and sealed with two coats of poly.

Perfect for the kitchen or even a small dining room. You can dress it up or dress it down. The possibilities are endless!

Frosty Mornings

Ok so this isn't a post about furniture, antiquing, treasure hunting or anything Laurel's Attic really at all. This morning Mom and I went out to the shop to get some pictures of the pieces we completed over the weekend and I snapped a few shots of the frosty morning outside.

I love this time of year (except when the wind is blowing icicles and your fingers are freezing off before you can focus the camera lens and get a decent picture... burrrrrrrrrr)... after the time change and mornings are actually a bit more like mornings instead of the middle of the night and the sun comes up over the trees. Its beautiful... and I can finally pull my favourite cozy sweater out of the closet for another season.

 

 

 

Classy Black Dresser - SOLD

This is one of those pieces of furniture that I LOVE LOVE LOVE to refinish. We bought it off of Kijiji a few months ago and it sat in the garage and now I'm sad that we didn't get to it sooner. It sat because we weren't quite sure why we bought it. Its a great quality piece with unique details, dovetailed drawers and really cool hardware but it was leaving us unsure about how it would look painted and would anyone actually like it? Well the final product turned out so much better then we had expected. Its beautiful. Its unique. And its classy. It still has a cool vintage, retro feel but to me its also modern and elegant. This would be a great dresser but it would also be a fantastic TV stand, hall cabinet or buffet.

White Side Table - SOLD

After a couple months with this table up for sale and no real interest in it we decided to redo this one too. A simple sand and some dark walnut stain has completely changed the look of this side table. Seriously, its a great table with a big storage space and lots of fun details. Hopefully now it will sell :)

Pretty Green Buffet - SOLD

So we had this pretty buffet posted a couple of weeks ago and I really truly loved it... BUT the more I saw it the more I wasn't thrilled with the final product. I needed to change something. Over the weekend we redid a couple of projects that hadn't been selling and I was inspired to try a slight change on this one too.

We sanded down the top... just the top. Not even the top edge. Stained it with a rich dark walnut and then sealed it with two coats of durable poly. It now has a richer, warmer feel to it and I love it even more.

Turquoise Side Table SOLD

This lovely little table is full of charm. Painted with a custom blend of turquoise milk paint, distressed and the sealed with all natural beeswax. A pretty piece with a big impact. It would look great in your bedroom, family room or living room. Use it has a bedside table or even a small coffee table.

The carved details add lots of character and this table has been heavily distressed in order to enhance the carved areas and let the natural wood shine through.

Rainy Days

Rainy Saturday's are the perfect time for a hot beverage, a blanket and a good book. UNLESS you have furniture to paint and you have a nice warm, dry place to work. Today is a work day... Not a work work day but a fun work day. We live hen we can line up a few pieces and just get to work!
